Portfolio Reflection:
1.) Explain in detail how the artifacts collected in your portfolio contributed to your learning.
The artifacts in my portfolio contributed to my learning in many ways. I was able to learn how to create interactive activities and lessons for SMART Boards. Also, I got to create lesson plans that utilized technology for students. I was able to learn how to use different sites like Adobe Spark, Marvel, and Piktochart. After using these sites, I learned how to use them and how I could incorporate them into lessons. Many of these sites I had never heard of and I probably never would have used them otherwise. I can definitely see myself using some of the tools and artifacts that I created in this class in my own classroom someday.
2.) Which artifact do you feel stretched your knowledge and skills and why?
The artifact that I feel stretched my knowledge and skills would be Piktochart. It was extremely easy to use and can be used to easily create an infographic. This tool could be used in my future classroom for students struggling with a certain topic. I could create “cheat sheets” using Piktochart that students could use to aid them with their classwork and homework. I learned how to incorporate different text boxes, ribbons, charts, and photos to create one infographic.
3.) Which artifact would you like to do over or modify and what are the reasons why?
The artifact that I would like to do over is the screencast video. I do not really like the way that the video came out and I feel like it looks choppy. I would like to make the video flow better. The screencast tools on my laptop were not working properly, so I had to use an iPad. I would have preferred to do it on my mac, but it just would not work.
4.) How does the portfolio and the process fit into a larger framework of life-long learning which goes beyond simply completing graded assignments?
The portfolio and the process fit into a larger framework of life-long learning which goes beyond simply completing graded assignments. It allows me to put all of my work in one place that can be easily accessed by me and employers. It is also extremely easy to update with new assignments that apply to my future as a special education teacher.

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And you are the one who'll decide where to go." -Dr. Suess
